I had a story published in BULL in 2022. This is my favorite acceptance letter I’ve ever received because it goes something like:
Jesus, this if fucking weird and fucked up and beautiful. Made my week.
This particular story is actually an excerpt from my unpublished novel The Cadence of Doom, a story that follows a man, the death of his wife, and the death of Major League Baseball. It’s kind of like Field of Dreams meets The Leftovers.
“Batting Practice Apocalypse” is titled “Prince George” in the novel, and takes place about 70 pages in. If “fucking weird and fucked up and beautiful” is your thing, then give it a read.
